School of Nursing

New Hampshire Health Care Association (NHHCA) opened the NHHCA Nurse Training School in the spring of 2007. Our mission is to offer our members customized LNA and MNA training programs that meet their employee recruitment, retention and career advancement goals. By foregoing a dedicated central campus, we have the flexibility to hold classes in the regions where students live and work. This often means holding classes in the long-term care facilities where students will begin the next step on their career paths. Holding classes in locations local to students, limits travel time making more time available for study, family and other important responsibilities.

LNA Program

  • 144 hours

  • 64 hours theory

  • 16 clinical lab

  • 64 hours clinical

  • Program director will assist the facility with screening candidates

  • Program director will work with graduates after graduation to help orient new LNAs to their new positions

  • Text books provided

  • We facilitate state test for licensure

  • Accepting 6-8 students per class

  • Flexible class scheduling, 2 day a week class is 9 weeks, 3 day a week class is 6 weeks

  • Staff retention strategizing:
We recommend allowing students to work for 90 days in their facilities before taking State Licensure Exam. This facilitates bonding with residents and peers and encourages students to become part of the community within the facility.

MNA Program

  • 74 hours

  • 5 days of theory, classes 8-2:30

  • 5 days of clinical, 7-3:30

  • 4 hours for final exam and graduation

  • Textbooks provided

  • Classes are limited to 4 students

  • Flexible scheduling, 2 day a week class is 5 weeks, 3 day a week class is 4 weeks

Both programs are $1,000 per student for NHHCA members. An NHHCA member is anyone who works for a NHHCA member facility. Please call for non-member tuition information.

Some facilities sponsor students and have them sign an agreement to work for 1 year. Other facilities pay for the program up front, and then make payroll deductions until half of the tuition is paid by the student.
