CMS is kicking into gear to implement President Biden’s vision to protect seniors. After the delayed implementation of new Phase 3 regulatory guidance in 2019, CMS issued a major update to surveyor guidance announced via QSO-22-19-NH.

CMS is issuing surveyor guidance which clarifies specific regulatory requirements and provides information on how compliance will be assessed. In addition, CMS is revising its guidance to State agencies to strengthen the implementation of the already-in-effect Phases 2 and 3 of the 2016 Reform of Requirements for Long-Term Care Facilities.

This program will provide an overview of these regulatory changes taking effect October 24, 2022 and review tools and strategies that leaders can take back to their teams to ensure compliance.

Objectives:

1. Review the Phase 2 and 3 regulatory components.
2. Discuss the regulatory updates that will be taking effect October 24, 2022.
3. Learn leadership strategies for implementing the new revised regulations.
4. Identify approaches to ensure ongoing compliance utilizing QA&A oversight.
